Okay, now this is a horror movie fetish films (those old rape revenge films). The story begins with a writer heading to a cabin retreat to help with her writing. The retreat goes horribly wrong when a group of men decide to attack her one evening, and the sheriff doesn't help the situation. In a moment of aggravation she falls into the river, and later reemerge's for revenge.

The premise of this film is obvious, it's shown in every commercial. This is a remake from a cult classic made in 1978. This film follows in the tradition of The Last House On The Left (1972), and Hard Candy (2005). Unfortunately, since it is a fetish film that menas that it only reaches a special film audience. Some average film audiences might have trouble dealing with the dark issues. Those of you who enjoy this films it's a landmark. Director Steven R. Monroe did a great job assembling a cast that got along great, and were able to build a real trust that allowed them to explore these dark places together (and even push it further). This was a great film for the director to direct that will place among movie goers. Sarah Butler, Jennifer Hills, did a great job portraying the angry vengeance woman, but did get a litte over the top when playing the innocent Ms. Hills. Chad Lindberg (Matthew) did a good job playing the character that you feel for, and hate. The male villains, Jeff Branson (Johnny),  Daniel Franzese (Stanley), Rodney Eastman (Andy), Andrew Howard (Storch) did an amazing job playing the disturbing role, and then making you want to see the pay-off revenge so much more. The revenge torture designs were disturbing and well done (Elaborately simple in design).

I give this film a 10 out of 10 stars, because it does justice to it's namesake. It's definitely not a film for children. If you enjoy these types of films then you'll love this one, if not then you'll have some trouble surpassing those dark moments.
