The Odd Life of Timothy Green

Caution: This Might Contain Spoilers!
If you enjoy my blog, you may enjoy my facebook page!

This film is based off an idea by Ahmet Zappa. It follows a couple, Cindy and Jim Green. They bury a box in Cindy's garden with all of their wishes for a child. They are given the gift of a son, Timothy. They soon face the challenges of parenthood and life.

This film was written and directed by Peter Hedges. This film has a very heartfelt story. It harkens back to old fashioned family values and tells a story about the joys and challenges of parenthood. It also opens audiences to a new perspective on general life. This film's story focuses more on the parents than it does on Timothy. There is just enough to get a faint understanding of Timothy, but not enough to create an fully understood magical world. This film tends to go at a fast pace, and cuts in and out of various sequences. There are moments when the film should have slowed and presented more of the characters or the situations. The ending felt highly rushed, and didn't allow enough time to feel the characters desperation. The characters were very lovable  but were also presented with the average family problems. The backdrop was great for the film. It provided that country home feeling, and also created an atmosphere of subtle magic. As much as this film is a family film, it is more geared to parents than to children.

The cast worked together, and created very lovable characters. Jennifer Garner played the role of Cindy Green. She was great in her generic role. She was very heartfelt. Joel Edgerton played the role of Jim Green. He was great in his generic role. He was heartfelt. CJ Adams played the role of Timothy Green. He was great in his role. He created a character who was different and very childlike. Odeya Rush played the role of Joni Jerome. She was good in her small role.

I give this film 4 out of 5 stars. This family film is geared more towards parents. It does cut through a lot of sequences too fast. The characters and the story remains heartfelt and moderately unique.
