This film was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. This film has been highly changed from its original stageplay. Considering how little advertised this film was it has done well among audiences. This film is a musical that is uncommon among other musicals because its a "goth rock-opera". It is, obviously, a horror film. This films story has heart mingled with its grisly violence. The heart is truly revealed at the end of the film. Its a familiar story of 'not becoming your parents and change the world' told with a twist. Every character has a history that is rapidly explained. This film isn't for all audiences, and its especially not a family friendly film. There is a lot of gore and nudity in the film. The songs are unique for a musical, and again is not for everyone. The music plays to a rock-n-roll/goth audience. The backdrop is uniquely chaotic and very dark. The costumes add to the goth feel of the environment.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars! Admittedly, I'm a fan of horror a goth films. I enjoyed this unique take on musicals and horror films.
