Big Driver

Caution: This Might Contain Spoilers!
If you enjoy my blog, you may enjoy my facebook page!

This film is based off the novella, of the same title, written by Stephen King. Tess Throne is a popular mystery author who gets attacked after meeting with her fans. Fearful of telling anyone about the incident, she decides to get revenge.

This film was directed by Mikael Salomon. This was a made for television film. This film has a strange feminine humor that makes this dark tale that much more twisted. However, this also gives an unforgiving light to a very dark situation. Some of the cinematography and the use of alter egos is reminiscent of A Good Marriage (recently released). Even though the story is darkly comical it remains all too familiar with secondary characters that can be easily forgotten. The villain used for this film is typical for this type of scenario. However, the central character's behavior is unexpected and gives the film its sincerity. Maria Bello played the role of Tess Thorne. Her portrayal of this empowering character was perfect for the film.

I give this film 2 out of 5 stars! Even with its dark humor its a bland over told story.

This film can be found on DVD.
