A highly dangerous storm is arriving to a small town, Little Tall, off the mainland. As the storm arrives, a sinister man, Andre Linoge, makes a statement with a murder. He threatens the people of this Little Tall. Little Tall is forced to chose between their survival and giving into Linoge's wishes.
This film was written by Stephen King, and was directed by Craig R. Baxley. This film is the first to not be based off a Stephen King novel. However, it does make a reference to Dolores Claiborne. It was purely written for the television screen. It was a mini-series that took part in four episodes. This has a great compelling story. It does get fairly complex with there being so many characters involved, but it works out. It also builds up a lot of creepy tension. Even though there is a lot of characters, each of the characters remain relevant. The few special effects used we well done. It added to the story instead of hindering it. The film did great with incorporating the storm into the story. It makes it so that the storm could've been natural, or controlled. There is some blood, but not a ton of over the top gore. There is also hints of sexuality, but no sex scenes in the film.
The cast worked great together. Each of characters was well portrayed, and felt needed. Tim Daly played the role of Constable Mike Anderson. He was great in his role. He created an amazing opposing force to Feore's character. Colm Feore played the role of Andre Linoge. He was amazing in his role. He created an amazing vilain with presence. Casey Siemaszko played the role of Alton 'Hatch' Hatcher. He was good in his role. He created an innocent best friend character that audiences could easily relate to. Jeffrey DeMunn played the role of Robbie Beals. He was great in his role. He created one of the most detestable characters for the film. Debrah Farentino played the role of Molly Anderson. She was good in her role.
I give this mini-series film 5 out 5 stars! It is a great horror story with a dramatic storyline. It may be long, 257 minutes, but it is worth it.
